Mickey Edwards and Thomas
Ex-Hornet Mickey Edwards is still making the news with his "Thomas the Tank Engine model".
This time it was The Sunday Times, Mark Hodgkinson (who should know better) had the story in at number seven
in his top ten sporting superstitions. We've even got a quote from Mickey!

Before leaving the dressing-room for rugby league's Northern Ford Premiership, the Rochdale Hornets prop
stuffs a Thomas the Tank Engine model in his sock. "It goes
back to when I was playing for Oldham. Me and a mate found it
in a field. I stuffed it down my sock for the next game and scored a hat-trick"
he said. "You don't get many hat-tricks as a prop, so I've done it for every game since"
