It's official - Hornets ready and raring to go!

I've spoken to the club today and the good news for Hornets supporters is Bobby Goulding has worked the first of his miracles.

From a standing start a month ago, he’s already assembled a squad of over 20 players that mixes youth with experience.

I’ve also had confirmation in the last hour that we have agreed to play the Law Cup with a squad of 21 (the starting 13 + 8 subs) and we have already that many players available, with more signings on the way.

Last night, we had 17 players at training - with five lads missing due to work commitments!

Latest news on the signings front is that we have signed Australian hooker Janan Billings who played at Gateshead last season. In addition to his playing role at Hornets, he will also be doing some Youth development work through Hopwood Hall college.

Hornets, I’m told, are still talking to Darren Shaw, while Former Leigh forward Andy Leatham has also been invited to training this week.
