Tri-nations trips and then France
Mark Wynn summarises the trips.....
Well three matches and 122 tickets/coach seats later , it’s all over.
With 48 for Wigan, 47 for Huddersfield and 27 for the final we not only broke even we actually returned a profit for the club of £277.50p.
The guess the first and last try proved very popular with the winners being Scott, Frank(Wigan) Viv, Clive's P`s brother in law(Huddersfield) and Ann, Gareth for the final.
Thank you to all who went and all those who helped make the trips such a success.
Thank you to Ann and Karen for their support and assistance in promoting and organising the trips and donating several prizes for our try scorer competition Ann also generously donated her try scorer prize money back to the club).
On the last trip Ann also fielded questions (thanks to Dave Withingtons idea of a £1 a question) about the club which raised £10 for the cause though in truth she answered about 100 though Daves attempts to get the new coach out of her failed on each of the seventy attempts!!
Thank you to Mark Reynolds for negotiating with Coachways and getting a big reduction on the cost of the coaches.
Thank you to Mary and Derek Wynn for also donation cash and chocolates for the Try scorer comps and for selling the trip idea to Bentgate Community Association.
Thank you to Geoff Howard of Bentgate Community Association who arranged for 21 local residents, mainly children to come on the trips and to the Association itself for paying for them to come.
But the biggest thanks go to my wife Deborah and my daughters Emily and Olivia who did so much of the administration, organisation and leg work which made the trips such a success.
If I’ve missed anyone off I apologise.
Here’s to the next trip which on the coach coming back from Leeds was all aboard to the South of France to take in a bit of French Rugby League, Jeu de trieze, COME ON!!!
