New Hornets coach Shaun Gartland is urging his side to play with more freedom as they approach the end of a difficult campaign.

Gartland said: “I think we have played a bit rigid at times this season and we gave the lads licence to throw it about and offload it with a bit more second-phase play (against Dewsbury last week), which is something spectators like to see.”

Centurions’ football manager Darren Shaw is demanding an improved effort from his troops after their heavy defeat at Sheffield last week.

Shaw said: “Our ball control was a major issue – we turned it over 10 or 12 times in the first half alone.

“This is a massive game for us against very tough opposition. They’ve got their backs to the wall and they had a good second half last week.
