Another derby game against Oldham

Although not fully finalised, this our understanding of how the mid-season cup competition for NFP clubs will work.

The clubs will split into three pools - west, central and east - with the clubs in each pool playing every other club in the same pool once. The two clubs from each pool will then go forward to the quarter-finals, along with the two best third-placed teams, and the clubs will play off in a knockout format to find the winners.

The inaugural pools will be:

Central: Hornets, Batley, Dewsbury, Huddersfield, Hunslet, Keighley, Oldham.
West: Barrow, Chorley, Leigh, Swinton, Whitehaven, Workington.
East: Doncaster, Featherstone, Gateshead, Hull KR, Sheffield, York.
